Botox and Dysport: Similarities, Differences, and What to Expect

Similarities and differences between Botox and Dysport and Xeomin

Both Botox and Dysport can deliver more youthful looks. Each product is approved by the FDA and are safe and effective treatments for reversing the signs of aging. Both treatments have been proven to deliver results that last up to four months after the procedure. In regards to their differences, Dysport diffuses faster than Botox and its onset of action is quicker. This means Dysport results may appear within a few days; whereas the results of Botox can take up to two weeks. Xeomin is similar to botox but has the theoretical advantage of less chance of allergic reactions since it lacks some of the additional proteins present on the botox product. Cost factors for both treatments include the number and size of the areas to be treated; in addition to the individual needs of the patient.

What to expect during treatment

We will topically numb the area you want treated before the procedure. Both Botox and Dysport are composed of a purified protein called botulinum toxin-A. The protein is injected into the treatment area and causes the muscles to relax and stop contracting. We will provide post care instructions to ensure optimal results. With Botox, Xeomin and Dysport, you can have a treatment completed during your lunch break with no downtime – you can count on returning to work or any other activities.
